Geometry: Coordinates and Gradients

The mid-point of the line joining A( –1, 2) to B(1, –3) is (,)

tickcross

Worked Solution

The mid point's x-coordinate is the average of A and B's x-coordinates: (-1 + 1)/2 = 0
and the mid-point's y-coordinate is the average of the two y-coordinates: (2 + -3)/2 = -1/2
The mid-point between A and B is (0, -1/2).
